The idea of wearing silver and gold jewelry together is a polarizing topic in the fashion world. Many view it as taboo, but, if you’re strategic in how you mix these metals, your outfit could be revolutionary, show-stopping, and elevated.
Follow these tips on how to tastefully wear silver and gold pieces:
-
Wear a piece that is both!
If you own a piece of jewelry that has silver and gold in it, you are free to wear either throughout your outfit. That one piece will tie the look all together and wrap it in a pretty, silver and gold bow.
Tip: You’ll be most likely to find a silver and gold piece by looking at watches or layered bracelets and necklaces.
-
Don’t base your outfit around your wedding ring.
No matter what you wear, you’ll always have your wedding ring on, whether it’s a sweatsuit or an evening gown. If you have a gold ring, wear silver jewelry. If you have a silver ring, wear gold jewelry.
-
Make sure to account for your clothes, too!
If a part of your outfit has a focal point, like a zipper or buttons, that is a certain metal, be mindful of that, but don’t let it dictate your accessory decisions.
-
Have a cohesive style.
Make sure your outfit follows a theme. If you are going for a casual look, don’t wear a pearl necklace. Dress up or dress down your jewelry according to the style you’re going for that day.
Hopefully, you feel a little more prepared next time you’re picking out an outfit and you want to mix some metals. Wearing your outfit with confidence is the greatest accessory of all.
